The wait is finally over—the all-new XPeng P7 has made its grand debut. What truly caught everyone by surprise is that instead of a pre-sale price, the company announced that the official pricing will be revealed later this month at the launch event.
As the latest flagship model of XPeng, this is far more than a minor facelift. The new P7 showcases comprehensive upgrades both inside and out, making it a noteworthy contender in the competitive electric vehicle segment.
Bold Exterior: Where Retro Meets Futuristic
When compared with its predecessor, the new P7 exhibits a dramatic design shift. Gone are the softly rounded futuristic contours—instead, the car now boasts sharp, straight lines and distinct edges. From the side profile, it echoes the muscular vibe of American sports cars from the ‘70s and ‘80s. What’s even more impressive is its ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.201 Cd, which is actually lower than the Porsche Panamera. Thanks to this streamlined design, the vehicle enjoys a range increase of up to 90 km.
The rear end introduces a more sci-fi inspired theme. The Y-shaped LED taillights stretch outward dramatically, complemented by an electronically adjustable rear spoiler with 10-speed adaptive functionality. This design overhaul not only marks a bold new direction for XPeng’s design language—breaking away from its previous conservative image—but also merges retro and futuristic elements to attract younger consumers looking for a distinctive and fresh-looking automobile.
Optimized Dimensions, Elevated Comfort
Let’s talk dimensions. When placed next to earlier models like the P7i and P7+, the new P7 is actually slightly shorter in length. However, its wheelbase has been extended—proof of intelligent design optimization. A longer wheelbase means more legroom, especially for rear-seat passengers, significantly improving ride comfort.
What’s more, the new P7 is wider, creating more horizontal space inside the cabin. Whether you’re carrying extra luggage or a car full of people, everyone enjoys a more spacious experience. These thoughtful changes reflect XPeng's user-centric approach, targeting real consumer needs with practical solutions.
Tech-Filled, Driver-Focused Interior
Dubbed the “Smart Agile Bionic Cockpit,” the interior of the new P7 leans heavily into a sporty and tech-savvy aesthetic. It comes equipped with a three-spoke steering wheel featuring dual satellite buttons: the left controls the advanced driver-assist system, while the right adjusts air suspension and toggles between driving modes. This offers both everyday convenience and excitement when you’re in the mood for a more dynamic drive.
The sports instrument cluster supports multiple theme switches—including Music Mode, Launch Mode, and Boost Mode—adding a layer of fun and personalization to each journey. The augmented reality Heads-Up Display (HUD), developed in collaboration with Huawei, shows AR lane-level navigation, assisted driving info, and even safety alerts and mini-games, reducing distractions and improving safety.
A highlight is the 15.6-inch floating central screen. It can swivel 15 degrees left or right and tilt up to 10 degrees, ensuring optimal visibility for both the driver and passengers. The front seats are designed as integrated sport buckets, with active side bolsters offering 30mm of adjustable support, greatly enhancing comfort during long drives.
Touch-sensitive controls on the door panels allow users to manage seat heating, ventilation, massage functions, and even access the frunk and charging port. One thing to note: while the rear seats come with heating, they do not include ventilation or massage functions, and the backrest angle is fixed. However, a small entertainment screen (the same one used in the G9) is available for rear passengers.
