Preparation: First, you need to determine which battery your PHEV model uses, which can usually be found in the vehicle owner's manual or on the label on the battery cover. Prepare the appropriate tools, such as a small screwdriver or plastic pry bar, and the new battery.

Open the battery cover: Find the battery cover on the key and gently open it with the appropriate tool. If it is fixed with screws, use a screwdriver; if it is a snap design, use a plastic pry bar to carefully pry it open.

Remove the old battery: Pay attention to the positive and negative directions of the battery when removing the old battery to avoid short circuits. The positive and negative poles are usually clearly marked.

Install the new battery: Place the new battery correctly, making sure the positive and negative poles match the markings inside the key. Then reinstall the battery cover and make sure it is tightly closed.

Test the key function: After replacing the battery, test all functions of the key, including unlocking, locking, and any special functions such as remote start. Make sure everything operates normally to verify the success of the battery replacement.

PHEV-specific precautions

Keep the battery charged: The battery of a PHEV needs to be kept fully charged, especially when it is parked for a long time or not used frequently. Start the vehicle regularly, charge it, or use it to maintain the battery charge state.

Avoid over-discharge: PHEV models have a protection system to prevent the battery from being completely discharged. Over-discharge will still affect the battery life.

Pay attention to temperature: Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures for a long time. Both high and low temperatures will affect the performance of the battery.

Follow the maintenance plan: Regularly maintain the vehicle, including inspection and maintenance of the battery.

Check the battery status: Regularly check the appearance of the battery, whether the wiring and terminals are clean and complete, without corrosion or loose parts, ensure good connections, clean dirt and corrosion, and deal with problems in a timely manner.

Through the above steps, you can successfully complete the replacement of the PHEV battery and ensure that the vehicle can work continuously and stably.
