Geely Holding Group announced impressive 2025 first-half results on July 14th, reporting total automobile sales of 1.93 million vehicles – a robust 30% year-on-year surge. The standout achievement was the record-breaking performance of its new energy cars, with sales soaring 73% to exceed 1 million units (1.001 million). This landmark figure underscores Geely's accelerating transition towards electric vehicle dominance.
The group has now consistently delivered over 900,000 vehicles per quarter for three consecutive quarters, with new energy car penetration exceeding 50%. Within the total, Geely Auto Group – primarily driven by its proprietary brands – sold 1.409 million vehicles in H1, a 47% jump. Its electric vehicle portfolio (including Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr) was particularly explosive, surging 126% to 725,000 units. Buoyed by this performance, Geely Auto has raised its full-year sales target from 2.71 million to 3 million automobiles.
Brand Performance Highlights:
Geely Galaxy: Led volume growth with 548,000 car sales (+232% YoY).
Lynk & Co: Achieved steady growth, selling 154,000 automobiles (+22%).
Zeekr: Contributed 90,000 premium electric vehicle deliveries.
Overseas expansion gained significant traction with 184,000 vehicles exported. Key developments include the Geely EX5 launching across six Adriatic region markets and Zeekr strengthening its Hong Kong/Macau presence. Crucially, Zeekr Energy partnered with Yee Charge (Hong Kong), integrating over 170 charging stations and 2,300 terminals – a major boost for battery car infrastructure. Lynk & Co continues its European focus, surpassing 10,000 overseas car sales in H1.
Global brands under Geely Holding also accelerated their electric vehicle shift:
Volvo Cars: Sold 353,000 vehicles globally, with 155,000 being battery car models (44% penetration).
Polestar: Achieved rapid growth, delivering 30,000 automobiles (+51%) and recently entering the French market.
The Lotus brand is actively rebuilding its performance identity following its official Chinese name adoption. Geely’s commercial vehicle unit, Farizon Auto, reported strong results with 64,000 vehicle sales (+55%). Notably, its Farizon Super VAN will soon serve as a new energy car taxi within Hong Kong's public transport network, directly supporting the region's green mobility transition. This move highlights the practical application of battery car technology in urban transit solutions.
