Another New Energy Brand is Here：Xiaohu FEV

According to the product manual of the Xiaohu FEV, this new brand positions itself as a novel low-carbon household electric car designed to meet the daily commuting needs of consumers in the third to sixth tiers of cities. The Xiaohu FEV combines the off-road capabilities of an SUV, the comfort and safety of a sedan, and the spaciousness of an MPV, resulting in a versatile “three-in-one” vehicle.

After the launch, participants adopted a convoy driving style. Given the continuous rain in the area, the journey involved many stops and starts. The five-door, four-seat Xiaohu FEV comfortably accommodated four gentlemen inside. The spacious cabin provided ample room for all passengers. During the drive, whether it was initial acceleration or overtaking, the power output was responsive, with plenty of reserve power available. The chassis was designed to absorb much of the bumpiness from rural, uneven roads, ensuring a comfortable ride for all occupants. The vehicle boasts a SPORT mode that enhances the driving experience with just the touch of a button. However, the low-speed warning sound can be a bit bothersome; fortunately, the cabin quiets down once speeds exceed 20 km/h, a safety feature commonly found in electric vehicles. The phrase “small size, big space” truly applies here. Although the Xiaohu FEV is classified as an A00-level pure electric vehicle, its interior space is surprisingly generous.

Looking at the specifications can seem abstract, but a comparison with the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV shows that the two-door version of the Xiaohu FEV is significantly larger, with a wheelbase advantage of 40 mm. The five-door, four-seat variant can be considered a larger version of a micro electric vehicle with impressive storage capabilities. Whether it’s picking up children, commuting to work, or grocery shopping, the Xiaohu FEV handles it all with ease. Its performance on village roads is commendable, effortlessly accelerating, turning sharply, or stopping quickly without significant jolts. The integrated electric drive system and the rear multi-link suspension design enhance driving pleasure, significantly improving maneuverability, a rarity in A00-level cars. The vehicle's ability to navigate narrow roads and park in tight spots has earned it praise from drivers.

The tactile design of the Xiaohu FEV, alongside its standard rearview camera function, makes it easy for novice drivers to park. The model incorporates core technologies for micro electric vehicles, including the body structure, power transmission system consisting of the motor, gearbox, drive axle, advanced front and rear suspension systems, electronic controls, and lithium battery pack technologies. The two-door version features a maximum power output of 30 kW from its drive motor paired with an 11.8 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering an NEDC range of 170 km, and a maximum range of up to 215 km. Meanwhile, the five-door, four-seat variant comes with a 34 kW drive motor and the same battery capacity, delivering an NEDC range of 160 km and a maximum range of 205 km—ample for daily use.
