Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 347th batch of "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," and two new energy vehicle models from Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., the Tingrui Xiaohu, were officially approved. With their "ID cards," it means that these two new models from Tingrui Xiaohu are about to go into mass production and hit the market.
Tingrui Xiaohu features a biomimetic design with a lively and cute appearance. The front of the car is equipped with a closed grille, and it will also offer different styles of wheel covers for selection, available in both "three-door, two-seat" and "five-door, four-seat" versions.
For the three-door, two-seat version, the electric auto's dimensions measure 2920mm in length, 1499mm in width, and 1610mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1980mm. This size is roughly comparable to the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, an already popular electric vehicle in the market. Meanwhile, the five-door, four-seat version measures 3380mm in length, 1499mm in width, and 1610mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2440mm, similar to the ORA Black Cat, another well-received electric automobile.
Power and Performance
In terms of power, the Tingrui Xiaohu sedans are equipped with motors that provide 30kW and 34kW, respectively. The batteries use ternary lithium batteries provided by Duoduo Fluoro, enhancing the vehicle's status as an efficient battery car. While more detailed parameters and configurations of these electric vehicles are yet to be announced (expected by the end of next month), the initial specifications promise a compelling new energy car for urban commuting.
Market Trends and Potential
Data from the Passenger Car Association illustrates a booming market for electric autos. In July of this year, retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 222,000 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 169.4%. From January to July, retail sales hit 1.229 million units, a year-on-year increase of 210.2%. This growth underscores a strong shift from traditional fuel vehicles to new energy cars, significantly promoting the market’s transformation towards electric vehicles.
Notably, the Class A00 commuter car, represented by models like the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, holds a market share of 32.4%, making it especially popular among consumers. The appeal of compact electric sedans like the Tingrui Xiaohu is further bolstered by trends like rising fuel prices, expanding restrictions on license plates in major cities, and the increased convenience of charging facilities.
In summary, with the continued development of new energy cars—especially pure electric autos like the Tingrui Xiaohu—these vehicles are ideal for daily commuting, child pickup, shopping, and leisure outings. As a result, they hold great market potential, aligning perfectly with the needs and preferences of today's eco-conscious consumers.
